"There's an App for that."

So I'm sitting in the ILC waiting for my last class of the day so I decided to blog.

I've been meaning to talk about Smartphones and their millions of applications.
Really, those things baffle me. In our generation, it's hard to get by without a cell phone. I remember when cell phones were used so that business people could be contacted when they weren't at home or in the office. And Blackberries were used by super busy people who needed to keep their lives in order because they were on the run all the time and couldn't carry a paper planner everywhere they went.

Nowadays, you see teenagers with Blackberries and Smartphones. Uhm, what's with that? What really confuses me is when they say they NEED it and that their lives would fall apart without them. And it's then that I just want to retort back at them that people before us have managed it perfectly fine.

But the fact is that everyone's just going at such a fast pace, they no longer have time to sit down and actually, say, reply to an email. It's all about instant gratification: texts are communication NOW. What I find hilarious is that people don't even really hangout together anymore. It's hilarious when you see people who are clearly out together but none of them are talking to each other because they're too busy using their phone to Tweet, or something. What one earth is that?????? Are the people you are with NOW less important that doing something in the virtual world??

If that's the way our society has come to, I'm afraid to see the future; it definitely looks bleak.
