Rich and Spoiled

Since arriving at Queen's and meeting such great people, I forgot about how different some people are from me. I have been lucky enough so far to befriend those who share the same values that I had forgotten about those who did not. I had the unfortunate opportunity today to discuss a problem with fellow first year engineers. Yes, it was a problem(s) that little people understood. As an assignment, we were to find a problem and then engineer a solution. However, MY problem was not something that could have a simple solution.
I have a problem with iPod (or anything Apple, or anything with a HUGE brand name, like Hollister lol). I DON'T have a problem with people like my friend, who were actually Mac users BEFORE Steve Jobs decided to take over the world. I DO have a problem with the sheeple who all bought into Apple products after the iPod became such a hit. It made me realise how the same everyone is. We are losing ourselves to these big names. One argued that sometimes we like higher quality clothes and stuff. Okay, true, if you're an athlete and you want clothes that work, go Nike, or Adidas, or whatever sporting clothing there is. However, some articles of clothing are ridiculously overpriced. You can get the same Tshirt from Hollister, or Abercrombie&Fitch for cheaper elsewhere, and it provides the same old crappy quality. Not that I'm trying to bash these companies, I'm just trying to show how SHEEPLE people are! And one day, consumerism will be the end of us, what with people buying things they don't need, and which will end up in the dump yards. And then there are those who don't see a problem with this at all. Then again, they are also the same people who would rather get a lawyer to fight their plagiarism issues, than jsut do the damn work. Yes, that's right, I had the spectacular opportunity to hear a snobby girl say that she'd rather have a lawyer fight a case of plagiarism than lose her scholarship. Well, how about this, bimbo? Why not try to ACTUALLY do your work once in a while? I don't even know your name and you already annoy me.

That's my rant of the day. Perhaps another day, when I am not so dumbfounded by such snobby rich folk, I will make a proper update.
That is all.
